Breeding Goals
Poke A Dot Rattery is now focused on breeding a rare gene from Australia called Down Under. With a focus on breeding Hooded Down Unders in Black and  Blue in both Top Ear and Dumbo, as well as Manx.
Selling Guidelines
First off I will never sell any baby as a feeder. For the health and happiness of all my babies, rats will only be sold in same sex pairs or single as long as I have valid proof they will have a cage mate. Rats are social animals and need constant interaction only available from another rat. see the available rats page for further information.

History
Poke A Dot Rattery was started officially in December of 2005 under the name Za Shan Nezumi Rattery. But due to extenuating circumstances Za Shan Nezumi was shut down and revamped with the new name of Poke A Dot Rattery.

Note To Buyers Looking for Breeding and/or Show Quality

The Down Under gene is NOT standardized and with the inconsistency of the marking it will be years before a standard can even be used to properly describe the pattern, making them pet quality only in the show world. Now, if you would like to breed this gene I would ask you to wait a while longer. I am currently working on improving the overall structure of the line (bring them closer to the AFRMA definition) this will probably take quite a while and until then all my rats will be sold under Pet Only Contracts.
